I have a client that needs there click tracks on their stage tracks for their band redone. I know the click is supposed to follow the tempo of the song but everytime i engage it on an aux track it always speeds up. Even when i change the tempo it never stays with the music. Is it only for recording or what? How can i get it synced with the music? Thanx toofly4asoundguy

The band is supposed to follow the click track - not the other way around.

if they are redoing parts and want to stick with their original drums, then takes the parts they want redone out of the mix. boost the kick for the bass player to re record. Get the bass guitar redone with his focus on getting tight to the kick drum. Go from there. You can move bass notes that are errant with cutting and pasting (or moving with the hand the cut sections) and insert fades where it is choppy. A little speeding up and slowing down might sound good if they are all together on it, unless the tempo is supposed to be metronomicly solid. good luck dB

If you're on 6.7, try creating a tempo map with beat detective first...then, the click should follow what has already been tracked. If not, you'll have to build a click track by placing samples of a click or sidestick or something along those lines in time with the group manually.
